Our Vision

Wyre Forest District has a thriving and sustainable urban and rural economy, with the infrastructure and a skilled population in place to support it.  It offers its businesses and investors attractive, accessible and high quality employment locations, particularly around Kidderminster and the Stourport Road Employment Corridor, a diverse, dynamic and competitive business and employment base.  The riverside assets of Stourport and Bewdley offer many opportunities to draw in visitors, and Kidderminster supports a vibrant tourist economy, providing a choice of quality commercial leisure facilities, restaurants and cultural opportunities.

Our Priorities

  • To develop a vibrant and sustainable economy, by attracting and retaining high growth and niche businesses into the Wyre Forest District
  • To develop the economic infrastructure
  • To improve the skill base of the population
  • To ensure access to economic benefits

These link to the following Local Area Agreement priorities:

  • To promote economic growth and enable the economy in targeted sectors and locations
  • To remove barriers to employment and improve skills in education, employment and training
